Relief Kits for Firefighters Helping the Firefighters and Evacuees
The Call was placed by President Kitty from Laverton Point Cook for our cluster to join in and support Operation Angel. This is where we pack specific relief packs for the Firefighters and Evacuees.
Working from 12-7.30pm we had at one point 60 people in the room not including the Rotarians from Werribee, Hoppers Crossing, Wyndham, Yarraville, Essendon North and Southbank.
So many people, so many ages, one cause - Relief Kits for Firefighters
We were overwhelmed by the community spirit and support. Such a great day..donations rolled in from Mums and Dads, organisations like Country women’s association, sending packs with hand embroidered ‘thankyou’ on the face washers..
We had pre packed kits ,individual items, and even a donation of a child’s pocket money.
Our Cut Giggle ‘n’ sew ladies answered the call…Thank you to Christine Conley, Margaret Johnson, Anne Randall , Anne Smith ,Therese and Charlotte Daddy ( and Charlotte’s friend .)
Charlotte and ??? did an awesome job of writing thankyou notes for the packs .
Mr Boxologist ..Robert came to the party with packing boxes, trolleys and tape.
At the end of the day,President Brian arrived with his van .and delivered the 700 Kits to Jacqueline and the Operation Angel team in Brighton. Thanks Brian such a relief to see you van pull up.
The donation that did not quite fit the strict kit requirements were boxed up and set for delivery to Werribee Support and Housing and The Salvation Army…supporting those in need in our own back yard..thanks Christine and Ross for delivering these Goods.

It is very heart moving seeing all of the donations and the community support …People donating quite often had a tear in their eye just feeling the love of doing something and being part of a community spirit.
