Our 4th annual Youth Mental Health & Wellbeing dinner and forum proved to be another outstanding success. The audience of 170 people consisted of young footballers and netballers, coaches, community members, various other guests and Rotarians including District Governor Graeme Hope, Past DG Peter Shepheard and members of our club and neighbouring clubs.

The guest speakers were Esther Hassett (Head of Wellbeing at North Melbourne Football Club) and Nick Larkey (Captain North Melbourne Football Club) who both told their own stories of anxiety experiences as well as offering some sage words of advise on how to deal with mental health challenges. Their words of wisdom captivated the gathered throng.

Club President, Luke Bowden, was delighted with the success of the evening. He said “As I looked around the room, I was reminded that Rotary's role extends well beyond fundraising and community projects. Sometimes our greatest contribution is creating a space where conversations can happen—where people feel heard, supported, and connected. If even one person walked away feeling a little less alone, then the evening was a success.”

Luke also expressed his sincere thanks and congratulations to chief organiser Peter Sandlant for his untiring efforts in coordinating the function.
